Pet Sitting FAQs

Why should I choose a professional pet sitter?
  • Your pet stays in the environment they are most comfortable with.
  • No need to travel with your pet, and they will be waiting for you at home upon your return.
  • Home security while you are away.  We make your home appear lived-in and will be able to recognize an emergency happening at your home, for example a water leak or a broken appliance.
  • Great option for pets who are not always friendly to new animals.
  • No exposure to diseased animals like you may find in a boarding kennel.
  • We send photo/video/text updates each time we visit your animal, as long as you have not requested otherwise.

For more information about why you should choose a professional pet sitter, please read this helpful article.

Is there an added charge for multiple pets?

The rate shown per pet sitting visit is for all pets in your home.  If your pets have been known to cause excessive messes, there are many pets to care for in your home, or you request additional services that may take additional time, we may require or recommend longer visits at an additional charge.

Will I need to give you a key to my home?

We require two keys to your home, and prefer to keep the keys on file. Keys kept on file are coded and tagged so as not to reveal the address of the home that they unlock.  When keys are not in use, they are placed in a non-descript lockbox in a secure location at our home.  If you choose for us not to keep your key on file when not in use, we charge a $15 fee to for each time you need us to pick up or return your key, which helps to pay for our gas and time.

What if my pet runs out of food, kitty litter or other supplies?

We will gladly make a trip to the pet store to pick up supplies for your pet. After we have picked up your pet's supplies, we will invoice you for the cost of the supplies, with an additional $15 errand fee.

Can I schedule a specific time for my pet sitter to be at my home?

We offer 5 time blocks for pet sitting visits.  They are:

  • Morning – 8-10am,
  • Late Morning – 10am-12pm,
  • Afternoon – 1-3pm,
  • Late Afternoon – 4-6pm,
  • and Evening – 6-8pm.

This means that we will arrive to your home for the visit within the 2 hour window of time that you have chosen. Due to circumstances beyond our control, such as: weather, traffic, and other clients' pets, we do not guarantee specific times that we will arrive at your home. We do guarantee that we will arrive in the time block(s) that you have chosen.

Will the pet sitter pick up after my pets?

Your sitter will pick after your pet(s) when they are out on their walk. They will also pick up after your pet(s) if they go in your yard while under their care; however, we do not provide yard clean up services. If your pet(s) gets sick or has an accident in your home, we will clean up after them to the best of our abilities with the cleaning products you provide.

How many times per day do most people book pet sitting when they go on vacation?

A standard pet sit for dogs is usually 3 times per day – Once in the Morning (8-10am), once in the Afternoon (1-3pm) or Late Afternoon (4-6pm) and Once in the Evening before bed (6-8pm) however we do offer 5 time blocks (Morning, Late Morning, Afternoon, Late Afternoon, Evening) for which client’s can book. Some dogs are fine with only two visits per day.

Cats require daily visits, once per day, but you can schedule more if you’d like. We do not offer every-other-day pet sits.  Since every pet is unique, you can simply customize each visit to meet your individual pet’s needs.
