Repel Pet Hair from Your Home with Fabric Softener
The war on pet hair in your home may seem like an uphill battle. Do you vacuum daily and it seems like you have made no headway in getting your pet’s hair out of the carpet, upholstery, and furniture? We have a trick for you: try using a concoction of fabric softener and water!
You Will Need:
- Spray Bottle
- Liquid Fabric Softener
- Water
- Vacuum
- Fill the spray bottle 1/4 full with liquid fabric softener.
- Fill the rest of the spray bottle with water, and gently shake to mix.
- Very lightly spray the desired area (carpet, couch, upholstery, etc.) with the fabric softener/water mixture.
- Allow the area to dry, which should not take long because we lightly misted the area.
- Vacuum, using diagonal strokes and multiple passes over the same area, if needed.
Note: It is always a good idea to spot test the area for colorfastness before you move onto a larger area.
This method works because fabric softener loosens the pet hair and eliminates the static electricity that holds the hair to the fibers in fabric.
